Yandex to add geolocation

In Russia few will care about the Microsoft/Yahoo deal. There most people use Yandex, the Russian search engine. And as they say: life goes on, also at Yandex.

Yandex has got quite similar functionalities to Google and Microsoft. They for example also have a control panel, which is similar to webmaster central. Yandex uses different formulas to rank in different locations. Yandex is now going to allow webmasters to add geolocation.

Until now locations of websites indexed by Yandex were based on the IP number or a hand-made adjustment by Yandex. But as we all know a website could be hosted in a different location than what its targeting. Yandex now decided to handle on that and had the geolocation option gradually to all webmasters.
