Yandex shows latest tweets in search results Remember how a couple months ago Yandex partnered with Twitter? That deal gave Yandex instant access to Twitter’s firehose of data with all the tweets and other public info. As a result, Yandex added Twitter to their blog search and made it possible to search through the latest Russian-language posts. Well, now Yandex went further and added tweets to search results. Last week Yandex announced on the official blog that they had made it easier to search for tweets and Twitter accounts. From now on, Yandex search results will include recent posts on Twitter. So, if I type ‘twitter bbc’ in the search box of Yandex, it will show me three latest tweets by BBC (the Russian BBC, of course) posted just a few minutes ago. Without leaving the search results you can bookmark, retweet or reply the tweet, or follow its author. ![]() For a quick comparison, here’s the result for the same request on Google (which, by the way, doesn’t understand #hashtags). ![]() Of course, I tried to see how my own tweets look in Yandex search results, but – (yet another) disappointment! – Yandex doesn’t show them. I guess I’m not as important as BBC… but I’ll try it later, in case Yandex changes its mind! Comment |
