Yandex copies Google’s personalized search suggestions
Yandex, the most popular search engine in Russia, added a new feature to its search. When typing in a search query, the user will now get suggestions based on their previous searches along with the other popular suggestions, Yandex reported on its blog on February 7th. By coincidence or not, Yandex’s personal search suggestions look exactly like those in Google – even the color is the same.

This feature is available only to users with Yandex accounts (mail and other services) and can be turned off in the settings, for example, when sharing a computer.
What do you think of such straightforward copycatting? Is Yandex trying to convince dedicated googlers to change their preferred search engine by showing how similar it is to Google, or is it just that purple is in season?
