Yahoo being sued in BelgiumYahoo! is being sued in Belgium for not cooperating with the Belgian Justice Department. Today (Monday) the case will be handled in Dendermonde, Belgium. The District Attorney asked for cooperation of Yahoo in a cybercrime-research. Yahoo however refused to cooperate. Yahoo didn’t want to hand over data. The DA then decided to take it to court. It’s the first time a case like this is being handled in a Belgian court. Yahoo can face a fine which can vary from 26 until ten thousand euro when found guilty. The result of the case might be of influence on how search engines and other websites which store data can handle the privacy off their online data. CommentRelated tweets

interesting ... Google had to give in to the CIA and FBI as well. I wouldn't mind; I have nothing to hide (especially on Yahoo, as I never use it anyway :))
