Yahoo looking for UK's best branded app

Yahoo is trying to get the UK internet users to give their apps some more attention. They are now trying to do that with a competition in which they are looking for the best online apps. The winner will feature on Yahoo's homepage.

Brands, digital agencies and web developers are invited by Yahoo to hear about the new Yahoo! Application Platform before launching the competition to find the country's finest apps. They then can enter the competition.

With the competition Yahoo hopes to gain some attention for themselves and for developers. The event is organized to explain developers how they can make "the most of the opportunities now available to develop online apps."

"The inaugural Yahoo! Developer Evening is to be held on 26 November and will feature a presentation from Christian Helmann, who is described as Yahoo!'s 'international developer evangelist'."
