Search Cloudlet: nice but not a must have One of the reasons why search marketers use Firefox is that the browser has got a lot of extensions which are usefull for optimizing purposes. A potential usefull plugin could be Search Cloudlet. This plugin adds a tag cloud to your Google search results. The cloud shows related terms which are used a lot by other searchers. When you click on a tag this keyword is added to your search query. The cloud has got a couple of more features. There are four tabs placed above the cloud: Tags, Sites, Net and Off.The last one being off course the way to turn the cloud off. ![]() The tab "sites" shows the most popular sites on the subject. This is off course very interesting information, but at first glance it looks as if the sites in the cloud are the same ones as the results beneath the clowd, with the first result being the biggest term in the cloud. The usefullness of this feature is therefore not very big. ![]() At the tab "net' finally you can filter out different domain names. This is nothing more than adding a Google function to your search result. Clickingon "net" adds the function site:com to your query. ![]() Wether the tool is usefull for search marketers is doubtfull. The tagcloud is interesting and can help search marketers get clear very fast what are the important related terms. The other functions have no extra use for marketers. It can help those who are performing a lot of searches. Therefore the conclusion is that its a nice add on but not a must have. Comment |
