Facebook Launches Messaging App Poke
As we reported last week, Facebook has finally launched a Snapchat-like app called “Poke”. The messaging app is currently already available for iPhone users.
Poke allows users to send messages which will be automatically removed after few seconds (1, 3, 5, or 10 seconds). Facebook will delete the message encryptions after two days. After 90 days, the entire backup will be completely removed.
However, many experts are afraid that people, especially minors, will use this app for the wrong reasons; to share sexual images for example. This fear is based on the past experiences with the similar chat Snapchat, which is mainly used as a medium for “sexting”.
