HTC Opera UL: the First Facebook Smart Phone Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, once claimed that it doesn't make any sense for the company to launch a special Facebook phone. However, as the source confirmed, apparently Facebook is developing its first smart phone, together with Taiwanese smart phones manufacture, HTC. The Facebook smartphone is named HTC Opera UL. The device has a 1280 x 720 720p HD display, a dual core 1.4GHz processor and uses the Android 4.1.1 (Jellybean) operating system. In addition, the graphic power is supported by a Qualcomm Adreno 305-chip. According to the insider, the launch of the Facebook phone is not likely to take place any time soon; a delay might even be expected. A Facebook smart phone will be the answer to the complaints that many Facebook users have about the application. Both Android and iOS users complain that the app consumes a lot of data, which causes it to work very slow. The mega social media company has previously indicated that they are rebuilding the app from scratch, but the changes they are making will still remain a big question mark. Next to a smart phone, a reliable source told SearchCowboys that Facebook is seriously considering to develop its own hardware, yet Zuckerberg has always denied it. Our source continues by saying that Facebook has not yet chosen any partner to manufacture the hardware, but the idea might be introduced in mid-2013. Comment |
