Facebook Brand Pages Can Target Posts by Age, Gender, & More

Brand pages on Facebook can now target their posts to more specific types of audiences, while previously page admins could only target the audience based on language and location.

Social media marketing will now be more focused as Facebook announced that advertisers will have the ability to target the brand page to more specific Facebook users. Here are the new additional options for target posts:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Interested In
  • Relationship Status
  • Education
  • Workplace

Say you want to target an audience for a back-to-school campaign. You can drill down to college kids 18 to 21, so your post will be seen more by that age group”, explained by a Facebook representative to Mashable.

These new options were introduced only couple of weeks after Twitter announced a targeted tweet system for marketers based on locations, devices, and platforms.
