Twitter’s first ever TV commercial

Guess what the world’s number one micro-blogging service did on Sunday? They aired an ad on TV! The commercial was shown during a Nascar racing broadcast on TNT cable network, Reuters reports

Twitter’s newly-made ad promoted the concept of hashtags – topics in Twitter preceded by a # symbol – and sent users to the page twitter.com/#NASCAR which provided up-to-date info about the race while demonstrating how such pages could work for other brands. A couple months ago Twitter created a convenient advertising platform for small businesses, and now they seem to be looking for ways to encourage big brands to advertise with them.

So, here’s the first-ever TV commercial of Twitter! (For more Twitter ads, visit their YouTube channel).
