Google planning its own event before Apple’s WWDC
If you are an Apple fan, you probably have heard about the rumor that Apple is planning to drop Google Maps in the next version of iOS, and replace it with its own Maps app. Besides this, other features are still well kept under the radar pending the event on June 11th.
However, Google surprised everyone on June 2nd. It is going to host an event on June 6th., just a week before Apple’s event. The invitation has already sent out, which says “At this invitation-only press gathering, Brian McClendon, VP of Google Maps and Google Earth, will give you a behind-the-scenes look at Google Maps and share our vision. We’ll also demo some of the newest technology and provide a sneak peek at upcoming features that will help people get where they want to go – both physically and virtually. We hope to see you there.”
Mapping and navigation are among the most valuable tools in any smart phone, so these 2 events can be considered as very interesting and probably will attract many visitors.
