Domino’s Down Under Facebook Campagne
Ok you might be thinking it’s way to early in the day (started writing this article 8.20 p.m. Sydney, EDT, dinner time for some) to be talking about pizza pies, but hey Australia’s ‘finest’ a.k.a. Domino’s Pizza got themselves a genuine world premiere yesterday: ‘The First Social Pizza’
Domino’s Pizza Australia is basically asking its 497.000 FB fans (you and I wish we could tally up those numbers to our FB pages) to help out in creating Pizza Pie 2.0… In my opinion a briljant move to engage with fans/customers or should I say unpaid product developers by giving them the opportunity to cast votes on their favourite toppings, crust, sauce etc. etc. and then reward their efforts by adding their daily popular selections to the actual pizza on the actual menu!
But Domino’s wouldn’t be Domino’s if they didn’t try to top that, so they are also launching a competion March 27th, challenging fans to come up with the best name for that supa pizza, culminating in cold hard $1000 for the winner…that’s a lot of pies including tips…
I do have to say that this once stigmatized brand (every marketer out there remembers that rock bottom moment in 2009) has since then shown a lot of courage in embracing social media to the fullest and subsequently just might have turned another leaf in pizza pie history…so kudo’s…and bon appetit readers..lunchtime!
