Twitter opens up people search for apps

Twitter is becoming bigger and bigger and with that its becoming more difficult to find the people you want to follow (or add to your list). Twitter itself always has had the "Find people" option. With that you can search for a username, first or last name, business or brand and find those you want to follow.

Until now this option was only available on the Twitter website itself. Third party apps so far couldn't use this feature. Twitter has now announced that it launches the "Find People API". The release of the API will stimulate the use of lists even more.

With this third party developers can use the Find People options. It will be very soon that we can find the first applications which will be using the API and helping you find the people you want.

The API had to come quickly with the lists now being rolled out quickly. It takes a long time to set up a lists, amongst others because it takes time to scroll through the users. Twitter already said that it would be up to third party developers to make that more easy. Now they can get to work.
