Twingly working its way through Europe

Swedish search engine Twingly is working hard to get a bigger audience around Europe. After launching their Microblog search service earlier this month they now are expanding to Germany.

A deal was made with German newspaper Handelsblatt  to implement Twinglys original service, Twingly Blog Stream, on the Handelsblatt-website. Now the website shows the blogs that have written about articles on the website.

Twingly’s CEO, Martin Källström, is thrilled with the deal “The German blogosphere is one of Europe’s largest, it’s an important market for us. Our search engine, covers nearly half a million blogs in German.

The expansion of Twingly to Germany shows that CEO Martin Källström was not kidding when he said Twingly was aiming to be the biggest search engine in Europe. Twingly now covers over 75 mediawebsites in 11 different countries.

For now most revenues (75%) are mad inside Sweden. With deals like this Twingly wants to turn that number around so only 20% will be Swedish money and 80% will be foreign.
