Will Facebook be the new Craiglist? When visiting my Facebook profile I saw something was different. Facebook has added the Marketplace app of Oodle into my dashboard and is currently testing its efforts. The button is not visible to all Facebook users, but users are manually able to implement this app. Oodle.com, which provides millions of listings, have integrated their services with Facebook, MySpace and AOL. They launched the app last March 2009. Due to the integration with Facebook and Oodle.com, Facebook users now have a trustworthy environment in which they are able to buy or sell a diverse range of products and services. Oodle is a social marketplace and is a different platform compared to other marketplaces. The biggest benefit is that your listings will appear on the profile of your Facebook friends. The benefit for professional advertisers is that they are able to create ads which are relevant to those listings. Will they become a direct competitor of Craiglist? No they won’t. With Craiglist it’s easier to target larger audiences. However, Oodle offers the consumer a safer way of selling and buying their personal goods. Craiglist should be warned. You are able to develop your own application right here! Comment |
