Facebook again most clicked search term in the UK

That Facebook is growing is evident. The social networking site is challeging rivals like Twitter. In the UK Facebook is winning the battle when it comes to clicks from searches.

Hitwise calculated that in the 4 weeks ending last Friday Facebook got 3,26% of clicks coming from search terms. YouTube came in second with 1,01% while E-Bay didn't get to the 1%: 0,93%.

When it comes to percentage of visits to websites Facebook is second. Google UK is still the most visited site in the UK. It accounted for 8,32% of the clicks last week. After Facebook (5,48%) Windows Live Mail (2,68%) and Google.com (2,06%) got a lot of traffic.

Looking at the search engines there is no surprise either. Google.co.uk got 78,19% of the most search volume, followed by its big brother Google.com (12,59%). Yahoo UK and Bing stay behind.

Compared to recent months these numbers are not surprising and don't show a big change. The only change which is notible is the growth of Bing who now has 2,61% of market share in volume of searches and 3,12% of visits to search engines.
