UK searching for holidays in home country

The recession kicked in. One of the areas this can be seen best is in the travel industry. This can be seen in how people search. In the UK for example people are not searching for holidays in Spain, but in their own country.

With the time of year in mind Hitwise decided to look at what people are searching for related to travel subjects. Most searched for is a UK holiday resort.

The top ten of Hitwise looks like this:

camping in cornwall

powells cottages
country holidays

Hitwise also looked at the top 10 most searched travel terms. The 'cheap flights' airways Ryanair and Easyjet are most searched for and confirm the recession-minded searches people in the UK make right now:
