Uk searchers trust on the BBC

Though the top news search term in the past four weeks in the UK is for "Sky news", the BBC is found to be the most reliable source for getting information on news or weather.

New numbers from the Hitwise databank show that UK searchers use search items like "bbc", "bbc weather", "bbc news" and "bbc sports" to get the information they want. Google is the starting point, the BBC pages are mostly the target sites.

The BBC homepage is the most visited page in the category "websites for the industry 'News and Media'", followed by two other pages from the same site: BBC News and BBC Weather Centre. Together they account for 36,6% of the visits.
