UK Search market sees an increasing growth
Marketers in the UK are spending more money on Search Engine Marketing. Numbers measured by E-Frontier show that in the last Quarter of 2008 compared to the same in 2007 UK marketers spent 11% more of their budgets on search.
The last Quarter of 2008 already showed an increase of search spend compared to Q3 by 14%. Those numbers aren’t that surprising because of the holiday season which always shows a growth in spending.
We noticed before that Yahoo’s market share dropped big time in the UK. E-Frontiers numbers confirm the drop of Yahoo in favor of Google. Google’s content Network saw a growth of 294% to a market share of 6,4%. Microsoft Live Search has still got a steady (3,4%) market share.
Microsoft Live Search was the only search engine which saw an increase of click through rates in the final Quarter. Where all the others stayed stable or decreased (Yahoo) Microsoft saw an uplift of 0,79%.
