English looking for e-booksNumbers released by Hitwise this week show that more and more UK-residents are showing an interest in e-books. Searches for ‘e-books’ have doubled in January compared to a year before. Since the Kindle is not yet available in the UK (Us only) in the UK the Sony Reader is the most popular e-reader. This can also be seen by the searches made for any of the four possible e-reader devices before Christmas. The website which profits most from the growing interest in e-books is E-books.com. Though this US-based site doesn’t have full availability in the UK it still gets most of the visitors. Another interesting fact is that the demographic info supplied by another website, Forebooks.com, shows that over 30% of its visitors are over the age of 55. Which could indicate that e-books are far from only for young people. Comment |

I sincerely hope the Kindle V2 will be released in Europe as well. For a frequent traveler like myself it'd be so much easier to bring one ebook reader instead of lugging around all the books I want to read.
