This is what a research paper (pdf), published by EIAA Mediascope, shows us. The internet usage of Europeans is deepening. More and more Europeans are using the internet for day-to-day activities. Next to searching Europeans are very active users of e-mail and social network sites. In the last year there was a growth of 24% of internet users between the age of 25 en 34 who created a personal profile on a social network-site. The research shows that the French are most active online. 67% of all French Internet users are online seven days a week. The French are followed by the Danes and Swedes. In total more than half of the European internet users are online every single day. ![]() Websites about News, Banking and Finance, Local Information an Travel are the most visited in 2008. Very interesting is the chart the research shows on the influence of the internet. The chart shows that 64% of Europeans consider personal recommendations to be very important when making their choices. 41% actually admitted changing their mind about a brand after doing online research. ![]() The numbers show that there are a lot of opportunities for brands to get more business out of their online activities.
