German Search Rankings for July

Today Comscore announced the July-results of their search measurement service qSearch 2.0 in which they measure, among other things, the search activity in Germany.

In July Germans were responsible for 3.8 billion searches. With 3 billion searches being conducted at Google websites (so including sites like YouTube) it is clear that also in Germany Google stays the biggest search engine.

In the top 10 four German websites are present:  Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck (3.4 percent) and ProSiebenSat1 Sites (2.1 percent), Deutsche Telekom (0,8%) and T-Online Sites (0,7%).

Other notable findings according to Comscore are:

  • 34.4 million German Internet users conducted at least one search during the month, more than in any other country in Europe.
  • German searchers conducted an average of 110.3 searches per searcher during the month, or 3.7 searches per day.
  • German searchers conducted a combined total of 845 billion search visits in July, averaging 4.5 searches per search visit.
  • 1.6 million German mobile phone subscribers used their phone to conduct an online search in July, according to comScore M:Metrics.
