Bing down in the US, stable in Europe

Search engine Bing has been growing ever since Microsoft changed the name from Live Search to Bing. Especially in the US Bing was taking away market share from Google. In Europe the rise wasn't all that fast.

One of the reasons for the slow rise in Europe is off course the fact that most of the 'cool' features' which are available in the US are not available here. The rise of Bing in the US seems to have stopped, in Europe its stable.

In the US statcounter calculated that for the first time since its launch the rise has stopped. Bing's share of the US search market in September fell by over one percentage point to 8.51% from 9.64% in August.

In Europe Bing didn't decline, but didn't rise either. As a month earlier this month there we hardly any changes in the market share of the different search engines. It seems as if there is a big quiet on the market. People are staying where they are.

The small changes we do see is a small decline for Google which dropped 0,3%, and a small rise for Yahoo (0,13%) and Seznam (0,11%) where Yandex and Bing stayed the same.

Worldwide Bing declined slightly (to 3.25% from 3.58%), Yahoo! dropped to 4.37% from 4.84% and Google rose to 90.54%.
