Calling Europe: UK in June 2009

The UK is always a front runner in Europe when it comes to search. The big search engines seem to be choosing the UK as the country to launch new features in Europe. Understandable if you look at language - issues.

In Calling UK we called Dave Naylor to talk about some of the things that happened in the UK, including the launch of Bing. He also talked about SERPS and the silencing of a UK-blogger.

UK SERPS issue
In the UK search results got mixed up. It seemed as if US and Australian results were blended with UK results, but there was more to it. Dave explains what he thinks is going on.

Google still number one, but what about Bing?
Google is still the most used search engine in the UK. Last week Bing got 3% though. Dave thinks Bing will take up more percentages away from Google.

UK blogger being shut up
A Police blogger NightJack has been unveiled by the Times. The High court apparently thought that was ok. What does that mean for UK bloggers?
