Calling Europe: UK in February 2009

Searchcowboys keeps you posted on what's going on the European Search Industry. Sometimes it's good to hear from those coming from a specific country about what went on. Therefore Searchcowboys Chief Editor Bas van den Beld is calling around Europe to find out what's going on.

Today we called the UK, there Dave Naylor answered the phone. He talked to us about a couple of subjects which influenced the UK market in the past weeks. You can download the podcast from in the post or in the right navigation of the website.

SES London
Last week was SES London. Dave was very busy during the event but had an interesting time, he actually learned stuff! He also calls for a SES in the Northern parts of the UK.

Talked about links:

GMail 'outtage'
GMail went down and Europeans went into panic. Not Dave, he had fun about those who probably didn't back up their data.

Talked about link:

Can UK stop Google's gambling ads?
Labour MP Kahlid Mahmood wants to stop Google showing gambling ads. Why does he interfere with this? Dave thinks its ridicule.

Talked about link:

Brits and cats
Apparently Brits are afraid of cats, at least that is what Hitwise tells us. Dave told us why.
