Beware: Taliban are invading Facebook! Did you recently receive lots of friend requests from beautiful women whom you do not know on Facebook? Be careful! Those attractive women could be the Taliban terrorists who are trying to dig for information about your country! The Australian government has found out that Taliban insurgents are posing as attractive girls on Facebook to befriend with the coalition soldiers in order to gather information about their operations, as reported by the Australian newspaper Herald Sun. According to the government, most soldiers have no awareness of the risk of sharing confidential information on social media, for example by not turning off the geo-tagging when uploading photos from war zones on social media. “I see too many members who post info/pics of themselves which identify what unit they belong to and where they are serving”, said one of Australian troops on Herald Sun. Three Australian soldiers were allegedly murdered this month inside their base by an Afghan Army trainee, possibly as a result of careless social media actions. The Australian Department of Defence is reported to be working on new social media guidelines for soldiers, which is planned to be released by Christmas. So guys, don’t be easily fooled! For the sake of the safety of your country, do not accept friend requests from strangers! _____________________________________________________________________________________ Want to become a SearchCowboys blogger?
