German online marketing fair OMD 2009 cancelled Igedo, organizing company of the OMD (Online Marketing Düsseldorf), announced today the cancellation of OMD 2009. The biggest German fair for Online Marketing should take place 16th and 17th of september 2009. A fight between OMD and the German Federal Association of the Digital Economy (BVDW) earlier this year resulted in BVDW planning a new fair, called "Digital Marketing Exposition & Conference" (DMEXCO). DMEXCO will take place 23th and 24th september in Cologne, only one week after the original dates of OMD. CommentRelated tweets

Wow so the 'fight' between the two did end up in a cancellation of OMD. As you predicted Evert...
Too bad there should be room for both of them.

Yes, I saw this one coming. I agree that there should be room for both. But if the DMEXCO is only one week after OMD it's logical it doesn't work. I think it's a bad thing. The online marketing sector should stick together and the OMD was a succesful fair.
