No Way, Facebook Has Just Acquired Instagram!
Breaking news! The mega social media, Facebook, has acquired the free photo-sharing application, Instagram, for $1 billion!
Recently (last week Tuesday), Instagram had just launched its application version for Android users. Before, Instagram could only be used by iPhone users. Some people assume the launch of Android version of Instagram has something to do with the acquisition today; but it is still unclear whether it is true or not.
Instagram was founded by Mike Kryger and Kevin Systrom in 2010. The acquisition will not affect the sharing element of Instagram, as it was announced on their blog “The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You’ll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you. You’ll still be able to share to other social networks. And you’ll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique”
