Universal mobile search now in over 60 countries

Thu 2 July 2009 14:40, Bas van den Beld

Google has released their mobile universal results pages in over 60 countries world wide. The new format is now available on all featured device models, so not just the iPhone or Android anymore. The universal search is supported by 38 languages.

Google launched the service in the US back in December and then added 20 more countries last March. Now with 40 more countries and compatibility with all devices Google feels its 'concurring' the mobile search world.

To use the new service, just head over to google.com on your phone and do a search. The results are blended and look very similar to the universal search results on the desktop. Results are populated with images, blogs, video, news, and product entries that are relevant to the performed search.

The (European) languages which are supported are amongst others English (U.S. and U.K.), Spanish, Polish, French, Dutch, Turkish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Russian, Swedish, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Finnish, Croatian, Catalan, Danish, Czech, Lithuanian, Latvian, Greek, Slovak, Ukrainian, Romanian, Norwegianan Serbian.
