Yahoo loses exclusive status at Vodafone

Telecom operator Vodafone will not renew its exclusive sales agreement with Yahoo when it ends in June.

Vodafone wants to use several mobile sales networks to make more profit. Yahoo could still be one of them but will lose the exclusive status it has had for two years.

“We might collaborate but it won’t have exclusivity,” a source told Newmediaage. As far as we know Vodafone will not set up an in-house sales team.

Vodafone and Yahoo started working together in 2006 setting up a Advertising platform for mobile devices. With the exclusive deal ending and not being renewed Yahoo might lose a lot of ground on the mobile area.
