Searching electronics? Probably a mobile

When searching for electronics products chances are searches are probably searching for a mobile phone.

Hitwise researched which gadgets UK-surfers are searching for. Mobile phones are by far the most searched for electronic products. 29% of searchers searched for mobile phones, videogames follow at a distance with 9,8%.

Searching electronics? Probably a mobile

Video games, computers and software lead 'the rest' of the searches. It's remarkable to see that the real 'gadget stuff' like consoles, cameras and mp3players are low on the list.

Hitwise also looked at which electronic brands are popular. Apple was the most searched for brand. Here also the brands are dominated by those involved in mobile. In the category Toys and Hobbies Lego was most popular but didn't even make it to the top 20. It was held back by no less than 9 brands involved in the mobile business.
