Yahoo tries it the mobile wayYahoo has decided to give mobile the full front attention right now. With the Mobile World gathered in Barcelona Yahoo today launched their new mobile application: Yahoo! Mobile. Yahoo! Mobile is both an application and a mobile web page. With Yahoo! Mobile, which was launched in beta, Yahoo launches an iPhone-like web-platform with applications such as Messenger, Mail, Maps, Browser, oneSearch and onePlace. The service integrates in to existing iPhone features. In the application the latest release of Yahoo! OneSearch is integrated. Together with the integrated maps the search functionality of the app is powerfull. ![]() An important part of the application is Yahoo oneConnect. This service integrates email, various social networks, Yahoo Messenger, address book and calendar, making your mobile the machine you can do all of your communication on. And that is exactly what Yahoo is aiming for. The online services must become a part of life. Therefore they also ‘allowed’ access to services which are not their own through the app. For example you can access YouTube, Gmail or Hotmail. ![]() The app can be used on the iPhone, all Windows Mobile-based handsets and smartphones from Nokia, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Motorola. But not until the second Quarter. Today Yahoo only launched the beta-version which is only available for the happy few. When registering you are already told it can take several weeks before you get access. CommentRelated tweets
