#FoodShareFilter - Share Your Food Photos to Help Others
Yesterday a friend shared a clip on my Facebook timeline with a message saying “This app is for you, Instagram lover!" Turns out it was a clip of #FoodShareFilter, a photo app that not only lets you filter photos of delicious cuisine, but also helps Manos Unidas to fight hunger and poverty for people in third world countries.
#FoodShareFilter was launched by a Spanish NGO, Manos Unidas. It is the first charity photo filter app. The organization intents to use #FoodShareFilter as a tool to “fight hunger through social networks”, with the slogan “Si vas a compartir tu comida, compártela de verdad” (if you are going to share your food, then really share).
So how does it work?
The idea behind this app is to stimulate younger audiences to engage in social causes. Unfortunately #FoodShareFilter is only available in Spanish. Yet, this shouldn’t stop you from helping the unfortunates; you only need to learn two Spanish sentences: “Cargar foto” means “Upload Photo” and “Subir a Instagram” means “Upload to Instagram”. Easy, no?
