Are you addicted to your smartphone?

Not so long ago my fellow blogger wrote about Facebook addiction. Guess what? Now there is a new addiction to be afraid of – an addiction to your smartphone! A recent study conducted in US by a mobile security company proves the point.

Here are some interesting findings:

58% of the respondents can’t spend one hour without checking their phone
More than half of them use their phones when they are in bed, and almost 40% do it when visiting the bathroom!

Lots of people admitted that they often use their cell phones in inappropriate situations, such as during dinner or even at church, breaking all imaginable rules of mobile etiquette.

Last but not least, as much as 73% of the respondents said that when they couldn’t find their phone they panicked – interestingly enough, more than half of those with the most emotional response to misplacing their phone were men!
