Bing Maps Mashup Challenge in UK
Tue 1 September 2009 16:04, Editors
In the UK Bing is trying hard to get more market share. One of the things which should help is involve the community. And that's what Bing is doing with the Maps Mashup Challenge.
And since Microsoft likes to give away things they are throwing in an X-Box. If you want to win that you have to build a GIS-based mashup that demonstrates how GIS can be used to improve business processes. Bing is working with ESRI UK, an organization specialized in GIS solutions.
The competition also is intended to unlock information and/or connect people with geographical data. The winner will be announced during this year’s AGI Community Conference.
Bing hopes to establish that people will find out "how easy it is to integrate multiple services into an application, bring together basemaps, operational data, and analytical services to create both simple and complex applications that provide information and solve common tasks."
If you want to join in you must submit a demo of a web application that combines data from more than one source into a single web application.
