Microsoft to sponsor FC Barcelona?

Some remarkable news from the European Footbal pitches. Reigning European champions, FC Barcelona, might have gained a new sponsor: Microsoft.

Sources say the sponsor deal would be about € 2 million on a yearly basis. With that Microsoft probably won't become FC Barcelona's biggest sponsor and therefore won't be on seen the Barcelona shirts.

Besides that Barcelona has an agreement with Unicef to be present on the shirts. Especcially for Unicef Barcelona stepped away from being one of the few teams in Europe without a sponsor on the shirt.

The sponsorship is probably an effort from Microsoft to get a more likeable image in Europe, where they are mainly seen as a "monopolist" and are battling a lot with the European Commission.
