Bing in UK out of beta?

One of the main reasons why Bing isn't adopted by an even larger group of European users than it has been so far is the fact that Bing is still in beta in Europe. Rumours now are that Bing is coming out of beta in the UK soon. Other European countries probably still have to be more patient.

If a country is still in beta it lacks some of the functionalities the US version of Bing has. For example the travel-function, hotspots on the homepage (which provide more information on the background picture) and more.

If you do want to try out these Bing features you can change your location in the top right corner and start using them. Though be carefull: the search results are NOT being changed for your country.

Getting Bing out of beta also means we will be seeing new backgrounds on Bing. This 'feature' has been received very well and has even inspired some to start a photo contest on Facebook. Now we will get backgrounds from the countries which are getting out of beta.

Next to the UK Australia, Canada, China and Japan are supposedly also coming out of beta. Other countries still will have to do with the 'pimped live search' as some call it. Which is actually a shame. When Bing is able to roll out the entire version to more countries I'm convinced this would persuade a lot of users to at least take a look at Bing. The full version actually does have something to add after all...
