BBC takes on Bing Maps big timeWe know that a lot of websites use Google Maps to make applications or mashups. Bing has got a maps-service which by many is considered even better than Google Maps.  All the maps are embedded in the BBC websites. During any of the events the maps are updated throughout the events.Some maps, like the 2009's Cannes Film Festival Map also uses embedded video, audio, pictures and text. Irish Language Map – Turn on layers of Irish decent including family name, features, Flickr photos, map photos, events and place names. England Council Elections 2009 - follow BBC coverage of the run up to June's English council elections. India Election Train - follow the reports of BBC correspondents as they travelled by train around India to cover the country's elections.

Yes I like Bing's maps better than Google maps too, especially for creating custom maps as the BBC has done. Good stuff. Google, are you paying attention?

Is there a way to have an embed map of bing using the bird's eye view but zoomed out? The default zoom is too close and can't really show the whole neighborhood.
