Microsoft Firefox add-on: only UK for now Microsoft is trying to catch up to Google by finally releasing a Firefox add on for Live Search. With Google focusing more on Chrome Firefox could be an interesting angle for other search engines to gain market share. The add on, which is based on the Open Search Standard, was launched last Thursday. Unfortunately Europeans will have to wait a bit to be able to really make full use of it. For now it’s in Europe only available in the UK. The Live Search for Firefox add-on off course makes sure you can use Live Search from within your browser and has got auto-suggestions from Live Search built in. It can be downloaded here. It is not clear why Microsoft doesn’t launch this relatively simple add on world wide. Other Europeans than the British can download the add onbut won't see any of the features. Besides that, the auto-suggestion function is already available at Google and I doubt that Europeans will be ‘anxiously’ waiting for the add on to become available in more than just the UK.
