Download Java, get the MSN Toolbar Not Yahoo but Sun Micrososystems is Microsoft’s new partner when it comes to search. Microsoft has signed a Web search deal with Sun Microsystems. With the deal, those who download Java in Internet Explorer will also be prompted to install the MSN Toolbar. With this deal Microsoft hopes to persuade more users to use the MSN Toolbar instead of the Google Toolbar. In a statement made by the Microsoft Corporation Yusuf Mehdi, senior vice president of the Online Audience Business, said : "This deal will expose Live Search to millions more Internet users and drive increased volume for our search advertisers" Since more than 90 percent off all internet pc-users are using Java the possible market for Microsoft is huge. According to Sun the “Java Runtime Environment” is downloaded tens of millions times per month. This deal can be seen in the light of the deal Microsoft made earlier this year with Hewlett Packard. In that deal Microsoft reached an agreement to place the toolbar in new sold HP-PC’s in the US and Canada. Comment |

What I'm not getting is the part that the toolbar can be downloaded by Internet Explorer users. Isn't the toolbar already installed on installing IE?
