The SEO business is booming
Though the world is in a financial crisis , the SEO-business seems booming as never before. And it makes sence. When companies have to cut back on expenses they tend to look at cheaper alternatives for what they are doing right now.
Advertising is therefore one of the first things 'to go'. Companies are looking at alternative advertising. And search, both SEO and SEA, is a good alternative. You can measure what the revenues are and the initial costs are most of the time a lot lower.
The economic downfall can therefore have an interesting effect on the search-business. It could very well be one of the most growing markets around.
If you're looking for a job in the SEO-industry this might just be the time to start applying. A Google search on "find seo job" will be a good start. About 457.000 English pages will give you a good idea of what's being offered.
That the SEO-business is 'booming' you can also see in the jobsites. The English jobsite Jobsinsearch gives us a nice view of what's going on in the search-business.
In the UK it has now got 122 jobs available in all sorts of positions. You can get a job as a analytic expert, a search marketer or if you're just starting an assistant. The German website Stellenanzeigen shows that Germany has got about 50 jobs available right now. And finally in Holland there are 38 positions according to Monsterboard.
But these are just a couple of job-websites from three different countries. Looking around on the web there are a lot more jobs available. And the companies are looking for ways to get the attention of SEO's who are looking for a job.
And all channels are being used. You can get a job using Twitter, and also blogs are being used to get attention. For example YackYack wrote an entire post with only one purpose: finding that one SEO to fill in their position.
So what will be the future for the SEO-business? Will the economic downfall have no impact on search? Or is it just a phase we are going through? Or is this the break through of search?
