Google blurring Switzerland

Google is having a hard time around Europe with all the accusations being made against them. Google must feel there is something wrong and is slowely changing their moves.

In Switzerland a privacy commissioner wanted to Google to close its Streetview doors immediately because Google didn't blur license plates and peoples faces enough. Google now says it will blur some pictures from Switzerland even more.

Peter Fleischer, Google's global privacy counsel, says Google has been working hard in the past weeks to fulfill the Swiss demands: "the blurring of people's faces and license numbers will be significantly improved."

The commissioner who first opposed, Hanspeter Thür, is now looking into the changes made.

The changes Google makes will be also introduced in other countries. License plate numbers however will only be more blurred in Switzerland because the letters and numbers are bigger than on other countries' license plates."

Google says the changes will only take a couple of weeks.
