"So tonight Im gonna search like its 1999"

"Dont worry, I wont hurt u
I only want u 2 have some fun
I was dreamin when I wrote this
Forgive me if it goes astray
So tonight Im gonna party like its 1999"

These are lyrics of the Prince-song "1999". The lyrics must have been on the mind of the creator of "Retroogle' in which he 'redesigned' Google back to 1999. (source Philipp Lenssen from Google Blogoscoped).

"So tonight Im gonna search like its 1999"

His fun-site 'Retroogle' lets you search Google like you did back in 1999. But the results are very much 2009. It's just the design that looks like the old days.

Lennsen used Google Custom Search to make this website. Very simple, but very nice.

  • Hi -- just to let you know, I did not create Retroogle and am not associated with it.

  • Hi Philipp, ok, I misunderstood that, I'll change it to you being the source :). Thanks for replying!
