Different route? Try Google Maps

Sometimes you just 'feel like' driving a different route to work or to your parents place. But you never do, maybe because you don't know any alternative route.

If you plan your route through Google Maps until now you would get a route which Maps believed is best. It allows you to drag and drop the route to change. But maybe you would like another route. Now Maps offers “Suggested Routes”.

A nice thing about this feature, well known in devices like TomTom, is that you can see all the routes on one map and compare them.

Google says that they choose alternative routes based on many factors, including distance, travel time, and number of turns.
