
Google introduces new Sitemap Generator Today Google announced they introduced a new generator which can automatically process sitemaps. It's open-source and able to run on both Windows and Linux web servers. This new sitemap generator replaces the "old" Python based generator. With the sitemap generator you can create:
The sitemap generator runs as a server plugin which can only be installed if you have administrative access to the web server. This also raises the question how many website owner will be able to use this tool? Since lot's of site owners don't have root access to the server, or company regulations won't let you install any third party plugins on your very critical web server. I'm no system administrator myself, but I can imagine that it can cause a lot of stress to get this implemented. On the other hand, it can save you as a SEO a lot of time once you get this generator running. Comment |

This certainly sounds like an interesting thing, bit worried what information it retrieves as Google advice you to add a line in your T&C's that 'search engines are tracking you', can't find the page now.
