Hangout with Giants Players Google+ Hangouts is not only the social tool for politicians, but also can contribute to American football players. In order to get support for Super Bowl XLVI, Giants hosted a set of Google+ Hangouts with players for fans recently, which wide receiver Victor Cruz attended as well. These one hour sessions were part of the Giants’ Social Media Night campaign. 20 fans were selected to join the sessions. In order to nominate themselves before the selection, they could add the players to their Google+ circles and visit players’ pages for more information. Notifications on selection for the hangouts including details for that evening followed on the morning of February 2nd. Indeed, it is an efficient way to attract more attention on Google+, just like “Like” on Facebook. Besides Google+ sessions, a live webcast from the team hotel featuring Jake Ballard, Steve Weatherford, Tyler Sash and Prince Amukamara was set up. Fans could ask questions via Twitter, Facebook or Google+ by using the hash tag #NYGsocial, and players answered the questions using the same hash tag. Social media has been playing an important role in many fields, either in politician, sports or others. Who will host the next Hangouts? Looking forward to having Google+ Hangouts with Daniel Radcliffe :) Comment |
