Social extensions, a great new feature? Lately, Google introduced Google+ pages in order to compete with Facebook pages. In my opinion a smart and necessary step. At the same time, Google announced that companies will be able to link their page to their AdWords campaigns. This new functionality is called Social Extensions. Social what? ![]() Right now, the AdWords ads only show +1's from people who +1'd the ads' landing page. Enabling Social Extensions increases the chance that someone who looks at your ad will have friends or contacts in his or her circles who have recommended your ad, page, website or search result. A great way of expanding your reach, right? You can find more detailed info right here & here. I am anxious to see what the future will bring for G+. It has got high potential, according to the 40+ million users and developments like the G+ page and the integration with AdWords campaigns. Great stuff, if Google is able to encourage people to use their social network more actively, they might be able to compete with Facebook. Will Google+ evolve from a ghost town to a vibrant city? According to the (in my opinion) small group of G+ enthusiasts it will, but will this also apply to all the other people who are not that into search and online stuff? For now on it looks like a difficult struggle to me. What do you think? Comment |
