LinkedIn(4me) - added value?

First of all I couldn’t be happier over the fact that all our combined efforts have led to a whopping 131 million users give or take a few thus enabling investors, employees and eager retailers to join hands across Lower Manhattan, anxiously awaiting the ka-ching bell coming November 21st.

But while Wall Street benefits might deliver an early Christmas to a lucky few
I as a humble subscriber in the Netherlands, Account Type: Basic still wonder why a tool that connects me with others does not really connect with me. Granted it’s free…(pause) and can get me in touch with potential customers, empower my career opportunities etc. etc. but so can Twitter and increasingly Facebook and despite an occasional privacy scandal here and there they still offer me a more dynamic, customized platform to fire up the old daily enthousiasm for free!

But hey do I really want to give up the 183 connections that I gathered over the years, unsubscribe LinkedIn and risk the fact that New Business could have been just around the corner, dilemma dilema…Maybe I should stop crying wolf, take Tim Smith’s advice, cross my fingers and hope that my Premium customer journey will outshine the basic one. I will keep you posted.
