Google 12th Birthday Interactive Doodle?

UPDATE This morning i visited Google.de to be surprised by a new interactive doodle for (which I think) is Google's official 12th birthday. It consists of multiple, colored, bouncing but time-wasting spheres. It has also been seen on Google.co.uk and will undoubtedly appear on other Google search sites. Happy Birthday Google? 

Google 12th Birthday Interactive Doodle?

A colleague said I've jumped the gun, and we should wait until September the 27th. Check out what search engine land has to say about the real Google Birthday. It seems it has changed over the years, so what do you think? Will we see a new logo the 27th and is this just an HTML 5 test?
