Google Grants Belgium looking for volunteers

Brussels, Tuesday 20 July 2010 - David Gillain, Agency Manager at Google Belgium launched today an appeal to all Belgian Search agencies looking for volunteers in the framework of the local Belgian Google Grants program managed by Olivier Zimmer and Stephanie Leppert.

Google Grants is a unique in-kind donation program that permits Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Charities to promote the visibility of their website through Google AdWords. NGOs are receiving a free donation of Google AdWords credits up to 10,000 dollars per month. “Unfortunately they do not always possess the skills to manage this correctly” both Google Grants ambassador in Belgium claim. “We spend some of our extra time to manage this project in Belgium and we are looking for help to train NGOs on Google AdWords, give specific advice on their account, and define a SEM strategy.”

Volunteers are asked to spend just a few hours per month on specific projects to be dispatched by both Google Grants ambassadors, Mr Zimmer & Mrs Leppert.

Semetis, a Belgian Search & Web Analytics agency has already volunteered. Indeed, Pauline Grégoire, one of Semetis’ account managers has presented together with Olivier Zimmer from Google at an NGO/non-profit conference the 28th of June 2010 (Excellence for non profit). The event was held at the Fédération des Entreprises de Belgique (FEB). She will soon be assisting some NGO’s on a voluntary basis.
